Dubai is all about boosting eco-tourism and beach destinations. With many -est under its belt, the emirate reveals plans of developing the longest open public beach in Jebel Ali.
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, approved the master plan for the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project, which is indeed part of a larger scheme to rehabilitate Dubai’s public beaches under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. Beach sizes are to-increase by a staggering 400%!
Fancy watching turtles in their natural habitat? Jebel Ali’s public beach will stretch 6.6km & will allow people to experience sea-life on another level.
“Our focus is on creating spaces rich in beaches, open areas, and recreational greens,” Sheikh Hamdan said. A statement that reflects accurately how this project will come about and another steppuing stone in the ever eco-growing of Dubai. Youth of Dubai are set for generational goodness in the years to-come.
As it seems the Jebel Ali Beach expansion is to be built in an existing wildlife sanctuary. This is what Dubai Media Office elaborated on the longest public beach project:
“distinctive recreational destination that places a high priority on environmental preservation and the protection of local ecosystems and wildlife”.
The beach is to be divided into three locations. The Pearl, the Sanctuary & the Nest.
In a little more detail; the Pearl will be the hub for beach and recreational activities, including a beach club with a private stretch of beach, children’s play zones and several restaurants, cafes and shops. A floating restaurant will be a centrepiece of the development. Talk about sea marvels!
The Sanctuary, as the name would imply, is of highest priority on environmental conservation, housing recreational and sports activities that enhance safe environmental exploration.
The nest which will include an environmental centre for studies and awareness of biodiversity, turtle rehabilitation and care programmes. It will also allow visitors to learn about and help preserve the coastal ecosystem.
