Bebek Restaurant, located in the heart of Jumeirah 3, offers a delicious Turkish breakfast. Café Gray is a new dining concept by Campbell Gray Hotels located in Dubai Hills Mall. It’s an all-day brasserie that celebrates the best of British cuisine and culture, which can be seen in the interiors as it’s designed with inspiration from London Underground tunnels and is home to a genuine red telephone box that was once on the streets of England’s capital.

The one thing wrong with breakfast at carine is that it’s only available on weekends – because we’d happily spend every morning at this lovely little European spot indulging in its creamy eggs benedict, avocado tartine and if we’re feeling really naughty, moreish waffles with chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

While we don’t blame you for not wanting to make the rather arduous drive out to Al Barari for breakfast and coffee at LOWE, trust us when we say you’ll be missing out on some of the best crumpets of your life. A neighbourhood gem housed in the leafy residential area’s unassuming clubhouse, this homegrown café uses only seasonal produce in its inventive dishes, which include the likes of freshly baked madeleines, brioche French toast and kale and green omelette for those on a health kick. This beachfront restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The daily breakfast menu is available from 6.30am until 2pm and offers a wide selection of benedicts bursting with flavours. Chef favourites include benedict royal, with smoked salmon smothered in a hollandaise sauce, and pulled beef benedict, topped with six-hour, slow-cooked BBQ pulled beef and spicy hollandaise. Among the large collection of dishes, vegan and vegetarian enthusiasts can enjoy sourdough avocado, a sourdough slice topped with fresh avocados, sprouts and spring onions.

Southeast Asian spot Mamafri’s breakfast menu has something for everyone. Start by checking out the breakfast sandos or a selection of breakfast main dishes including fried rice, Asian chicken sausage patty, sunny-side-up egg, hash brown, avocado, miso maple bacon, julienne bell pepper and spring onion. Make sure you try the sticky rice served with Asian chicken sausage, dashi tornado egg omelette and omi sauce. There’s also a pancakes and desserts section offering Japanese hotcakes with miso maple syrup.

Nama Yoso, Chef Reif Othman’s latest concept in the heart of Mirdif, hosts a special weekend breakfast menu from 9am to 4pm. Try popular breakfast classics reimagined with a contemporary Japanese twist. Highlights include the avocado toast, featuring yuzu juice, feta cheese, and shiso chimichurri dressing, and the black croissant burger with a wagyu patty, bacon, cheddar, and a sunny-side-up egg. The French toast crème brûlée, made from homemade shokupan and caramelised with Japanese brown sugar, served with vanilla ice cream and crème anglaise espuma, is not to be missed.

Not all cafés in Dubai were made equal – we’ve eaten our way through our fair share of sub-par brekkies. Luckily you won’t have the problem down at NETTE, an Al Quoz-based café specialising in French-Japanese fusion dishes. From the founders of modern Parisian bistro Cassette, you’ll stumble upon it inside the beautiful grounds of Matcha Club, where both Lululemon-clad mothers, padel players and people doing business gather for coffee, brunch and a good ole chit chat. An Alserkal stalwart and one of Dubai’s original specialist coffee shops, Nightjar has been our go-to for expert drinks and tasty bites ever since setting up shop in 2018. Dubai’s homegrown vegan eatery, Planet Terra has opened a second location at Ibis World Trade Centre Hotel. For breakfast, which is served from 8am to noon 12pm daily, find a range of açaí bowls like the tropical açaí bowl with banana and dates topped with crunchy homemade granola, coconut flakes and tropical fruits, mushrooms on toast with homemade cashew cream cheese, matcha pancakes with whipped coconut cream, and avocado bruschetta with caramelised onion, and tomato confit on sourdough, plus plenty more.

Risen Café & Artisanal Bakery opened its fifth outlet at the Balqis Residence on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah at the start of the year. The homegrown brand offers pretty interiors, full-bodied coffee, pastries, signature dishes and fresh-from-the-oven loaves. With floor-to-ceiling windows, stripped-back wooden floors and an outdoor seating area with sea views. The venue serves the popular salted caramel-filled doughnut, chocolate crème supreme, carrot cake and black forest tart – and the opportunity to take home a freshly-baked, artisan-made baguette or loaf is not to be missed.

On those lazy Sunday mornings when we’re still recovering from Saturday brunch, it takes quite a lot to drag us out of bed. The promise of breakfast at SAN Beach will do it though. A stylish beach club at Palm West Beach with music that matches its upmarket vibe, the likes of freshly-baked croissants, muffins, French toast and a Nutella ‘tipsy cake’ might not be your usual indulgences before a luxury beach day, but life’s way too short to worry about that. Açai bowls, eggs and breakfast cocktails also grace the menu.

From the team behind Tom&Serg, Common Grounds and The Sum of Us, their latest venture is an aesthetic, pet-friendly café that serves up park views, a gorgeous, leafy outdoor terrace and easy, enjoyable food. Think nourishing and hearty dishes made with wholesome ingredients that don’t scrimp on flavour. You won’t find a greasy fry-up at Splendour Fields, it’s about filling plates worthy of a space on a health nut’s IG feed.

If you’re looking for expert roasters who also happen to rustle up some expert grub, Stomping Grounds is an excellent choice. The sort of place where strangers become good friends over gooey cheese croissants and creamy slices of tiramisu, its coffee selection is second to none, with more than nine options of espresso and four types of speciality filters. You can also substitute milk for almond, soya, oat, coconut and lactose-free options, catering to all tastes and dietary requirements.

Open from as early as 8am, the breakfast selection at Society is applause-worthy. Located in Jumeirah 1, Society ticks all the boxes for those looking to enjoy clean, honest and delicious food. The bustling all-day dining concept was founded by Sheikha Al Mheiri in 2015 and serves up flavourful dishes including avocado yoghurt with granola and brulée pineapple, Acai bowl with granola, banana, berries and dragon fruit, Turkish eggs with garlic labneh, Aleppo chilli butter, pine nuts and grilled bread, truffle scrambled eggs with truffle bechamel and so much more.

Head to this Turkish gem and go big with the Royal Breakfast, which is the perfect choice for when you’re in the mood for a bit of everything – with a full showing of flavour. The Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards winner for Best Turkish has firmely earned its spot on this list. There’s everything from black olives to cream and honeycomb. Step into Table Otto’s little marble hideaway for a wholesome breakfast experience with a crafted selection of morning specialities ranging from sweet to savoury. Get transported to the sun-drenched shores of Greece with the baked feta spanakopita, a layered, flaky pastry with morsels of spinach and feta cheese filling or if you’re in the mood for a breakfast that’s all about comfort and decadence, try table Otto’s twist on classic French dish with the Al Makan Pain Perdu – an elevated French toast. Jumeirah Beach Road isn’t short of cafes, but The Surf Café by Leen’s is one of our favourites. After all, anywhere that serves breakfast until 2pm is a bit of us. A bright and airy café defined by an abundance of greenery, dishes include the likes of granola bowls, wraps and eggs cooked to your liking, with great vegan options to boot. If you’re a dairy lover though, don’t leave without ordering the Nutella Iced Latte with caramel syrup and vanilla ice cream.

Developed by Peter Ahn – artist, entrepreneur and founder of YUi and Selectshop Frame – this bakery-come-café advocates for sustainability through its food with a four-pillar value system that includes sustainability, seasonality, simplicity and integrity. The smell of freshly baked bread and pastries will draw you into the cool minimalistic space while floor-to-ceiling water views and stellar food and drinks will ensure you stay.

Terra, the Mediterranean spot in Jumeirah has introduced a breakfast menu. Breakfast can be enjoyed in Terra’s pretty patio garden space, where dogs are also welcome. On the menu, you’ll find eggs menemen, Turkish eggs cooked with chilli oil and yoghurt, hummus with artichokes, olives and pita bread and frittata to name a few. For healthy eaters, the Terra bowl made with quinoa, mixed leaves, beetroot and boiled organic egg is a colourful and nutritious choice. Led by restaurateur and owner Rashed Al Tayer, Terra offers breakfast dishes daily from 8am until noon.

One of our top picks is the authentic Arabic breakfast complete with foul medames, labneh, grilled halloumi cheese, vegetables, makdous and more. There’s something quite industrial about this stylish coffee shop down on Al Wasl Road – and that’s exactly where its charm lies. Marrying culture, design, community and excellent coffee in an edgy space that was made for the ‘gram, it also so happens to have some of the most inventive breakfast options in town too. Add to that a dedicated espresso menu with beans originating from Brazil and Ethiopia and it’s the very definition of good morning.

Wandering around Old Dubai and need a bite of breakfast? Amid the labyrinthine of alleyways that make up the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, you’ll find this quirky little café inside the retro XVA Art Hotel. The walls are adorned with striking art, and there’s a tree in the courtyard making it the sort of place where you’ll want to relax and chill. The hotel also houses a gallery that hosts regular exhibitions that feature a range of key Middle Eastern artists, plus the food is vegetarian-friendly.
