Being at a French patisserie the cakes, as you’d expect, are exceptional, though there aren’t any scones (word for the purists). You’ll not feel like you’re missing out those as the pastries and sweet treats are so delightful.

Tucked away in Al Quoz, Birch Bakery is the kind of spot that once you’ve discovered, you’re never going to forget. So get ready for weekend mornings sampling croissants, bread and those cinnamon rolls.
The cute spot has a handful of tables, but more often than not you’ll leave with armfuls of baked goods ready to scoff on the sofa (or in the carpark, we’re not judging). Don’t miss the Emirati honey and sea salt croissant, while top picks for bread include a nut and seed loaf or sea salt focaccia.

This cute, prettily decorated eatery in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour 1 comes from the team behind 3 Fils and Brix. Having opened in 2023, it’s rapidly becoming known as one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Dubai thanks to its fresh, delicious dishes and cool vibe.
The set-up is lovely, both inside and from the terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The menu comes from Turkish fishmonger Ersan Yılmaz (a social celebrity back home) who draws inspiration from coastal fishing village traditions and modern-day preparations and features 200-year-old recipes that have been passed down through generations.
Expect dishes such as clam casserole and grilled octopus. Go before the secret is out – this is the best seafood restaurant in Dubai right now.

If you have a sweet tooth you’re in the right place as the wide ranging dessert and pastry menu is absolutely excellent.
From carrot cake to lemon and basil sponge, basque cheesecake and millefeuille, each treat has a quirky twist on the original and they look as good as they taste. It’s new, it’s brilliant and it’s officially the best café in Dubai for 2024.

One of the biggest and best buffet brunches in Dubai, Bubbalicious is an absolutely massive Saturday afternoon food-filled extravaganza. Sprawling out across three restaurants and a large outdoor terrace, this is one for the Dubai bucket list. Famed for its huge spread of food, it’s excellent quality, especially given the scale of it.
Whether you want freshly shucked oysters and a slap-up roast dinner, stir-fries made in front of you, fragrant curries or fish and chips, you’re in the right place. Or if you just want to go all out at the cheese station, well we wouldn’t persuade you otherwise.

One of the best outdoor restaurants in Dubai, expect both a sun-dappled terrace and toes-in-the-sand dining, with cute furnishings, red and white striped umbrellas and a riviera feel.

Coming from the Isan region of Thailand, expect punchy flavours (Thai spicy really means spicy) with curries, stir-fries, noodles and more. The service is warm and friendly, while the drinks are affordable and the poptastic tunes add to the laid-back atmosphere.

This stunning DIFC restaurant has picked up the top gong for the second year in a row. Following a turn towards a more high-end direction at the end of 2023, with a new kitchen team and menu in place, Chic Nonna has come back better than ever.
Happily, the food is still delicious, with a mixture of both homely dishes like pizza and pasta and a more refined tasting menu that shows off the chefs’ skills. The dining room is delightful, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows that open fully in the winter to reveal views of Burj Khalifa, and an elegant feel.
The massive grape cellar is also a plus, while the restaurant was also named the best place in the UAE to drink bubbly by Gault&Millau in 2023.

For homely, comforting Lebanese bites at affordable pricing, Dukkan El Baba is one of the best place for cheap eats in Dubai. A cute, low-key spot that opened in early 2023, Dukkan El Baba has a regular menu plus regular specials and dishes of the day – meaning you can make repeat visits and always try something different.
The menu is a mix of hot, cold and saucy. Some of our favourites are Lebanese vine leaves, stuffed courgette, aubergine fatteh, chicken shish tawook and delicious shawarma. Don’t miss it if you want terrific Lebanese food, for less.

The brainchild of husband and wife duo Sultan and Kinda Chatila – aka supperclub stars Tanos At 8 – there was great anticipation when Eleven Green opened. And this brilliant burger bar fulfilled all expectations.
With Art Deco-style décor and green banquettes, the interiors contrast with the stripped-back metal trays the burgers come on and it’s a cooler-than-cool place to grab a burger. And the burgers themselves are excellent.
Don’t miss the Double Trouble, with cheese, onion, pickles and signature 11G sauce in a potato bun, or the signature Bull Burger smothered in melted cheddar, onions, house-made bacon jam and the team’s famed bull sauce. Now officially the best burger in Dubai for 2024, this is one patty you’ll be dreaming of for days.

Known in Beirut as one of the most elegant restaurants in the city, Em Sherif comes with lofty expectations. And here in Dubai it lives up to those high hopes The menu in Dubai is a more casual, home-style experience than the Beirut original and the food is utterly delicious.
Start with creamy hummus and sesame-studded falafel before moving onto cheese pie and a perfectly cooked mixed grill. A charming experience with generous, tasty plates – it’s no one wonder Em Sherif is the best Lebanese restaurant in Dubai.

A French restaurant from the team behind La Cantine du Faubourg, Eugène Eugène opened in 2023 and has made plenty of noise ever since. This gastropub hails from Chicago, from the brewery of the same name. Having opened in 2021 it’s become a popular spot for residents of JVC and further afield and picked up Pub of the Year award in 2023. It’s no surprise then that it serves some pretty amazing pub grub.
With plenty of deals including happy hours and ladies’ nights, as well as a golf simulator, there’s a lot to help you work up an appetite. The menu boasts some of the best pub food in Dubai and has all the staples you’d want – from wings to pizza, burgers, fish and chips and more, while there’s also a decent selection for vegetarians and vegans.

A relative newcomer to the Asian dining scene in Dubai, Hawkerboi can be found at The Park in JLT. Offering cool, moody date night vibes with an interesting list of mixed drinks, Hawkerboi started life as a supper club, before setting up in its permanent location in April 2023.
Now officially one of the best Asian restaurants in Dubai – and Casual Restaurant of the Year for 2024 – Hawerboi is always buzzing. The open kitchen serves street food-style plates, think chicken satay, crispy fried squid, duck gyoza and banana blossom salad, as well as perfectly roast meat, flavoursome curries and palate-popping stir-fries.

Into The Jungle, as the name suggests, takes into account the foliage-filled surroundings of Giardino’s interiors at Palazzo Versace Dubai and has a strong theme. Expect an international buffet and plenty of entertainment throughout your Saturday afternoon, including live shows, balloon bending, face painting, arts and crafts and even an appearance from Magic Phil. If you’re in the mood for a metre of sausage or build-your-own mac and cheese, there’s nowhere else to go but JB’s Gastropub. Found on The Walk at JBR, this cool gastropub has an industrial-style décor, exposed lighting and a petite terrace.
It shows plenty of sport on TV and has some decent deals, all of which are brilliant accompaniments to some of the best pub food in Dubai, which also includes burgers, steaks and cheese or charcuterie boards.

Hailed as one of the most creative and best Asian restaurants in Dubai, Jun’s comes from applauded chef Kelvin Cheung and proudly serves up ‘third culture cooking’. This cool new restaurant opened at the end of 2023 at the growing foodie hub that is The St. Regis Gardens on Palm Jumeirah. From acclaimed Spanish chef Dani García – who has renowned restaurants across Spain including in his hometown of Marbella – Leña is a brilliant place for a date night, with moody lighting, slick interiors and a huge open kitchen nestled behind glass for a view of the chefs.
All dishes are based around smoke, with grilling front-and-centre here. From steaks to veggies, fish, seafood, chicken and more – the wood-fired plates are creative and expertly cooked.

An excellent newcomer to the best family restaurant in Dubai scene, Limonata can be found at the end of Club Vista Mare and is a cute spot for a day out on the sand with the family. Expect classic Italian dishes – pizza, pasta, calzone, salad etc – as well as gelato and traditional desserts so order a bunch of dishes and share. Mama’esh is one of the best budget restaurants in Dubai and one that we can’t get enough of. A Palestinian restaurant that has spread to various locations throughout the city, the food is excellent and authentic wherever you go.
For a cute date night or lunch out with the family, head to the Al Manara branch for charming décor and a delightful little terrace. Dig into freshly baked manakish laden with gooey, molten cheese, or Palestinian hummus and spinach fatayer.
The breakfast platters are ace, and for traditional Palestinian food, there’s no better place in Dubai.

Billing itself as ‘Thai-Japanese’ this carefully crafted menu spans the region, with everything from sushi to stir-fries, dim sum, curries and more – all of which are expertly prepared and incredible moreish. Hailing from Monaco, the Dubai branch set up in 2022 and has been a huge hit ever since.
Not only is the à la carte standout, there’s an excellent brunch too (which is also a former award-winner).

With excellent sushi, robata, claypots and grills (the black cod is terrific) Mimi Kakushi retains its title as the best Japanese restaurant in Dubai for the second year, and you’ll certain to be back time and again.
Mimi Kakushi also does an excellent brunch, for when you want to sample all the signatures, while you should stop in for a Japanese-inspired drink at the restaurant bar for a drink pre- or post-dinner, too.

A lively spot at the Sheraton Grand Hotel along Sheikh Zayed Road, this New York-born Jamaican hotspot has long been one of the best Caribbean restaurants in Dubai. An upbeat restaurant that’s also a popular place for a party, expect to be on the dancefloor once the plates have been cleared away.
The bar area is popping and there’s a buzzing ladies’ night every week too. When it comes to Jamaican cuisine, get stuck into jerk chicken, hot pepper shrimp, salt cod fritters and fried chicken coco buns for a true taste of the islands. It’s spicy and fun – an all-round top dinner out.

The younger sister of the popular New Orleans-inspired bar and restaurant Nola in JLT, Nola Bijou Bistro & Bar opened in the licensed area of City Walk in 2023, bringing the deep south cooking to another area of the city.
Already making its name as the best North American restaurant in Dubai, the restaurant is designed to look like a colonial house in New Orleans in the 1800s, complete with antique furniture to really give you a time hop.

One of the most impressive restaurants in town – and one the best degustation menus in Dubai – Ossiano is a special occasion dining experience that has to be tried at least once. With a super menu from lauded chef Grégoire Berger using the finest ingredients from around the world, be prepared to be wowed.
The setting itself is incredible – with floor-to-ceiling windows revealing Atlantis The Palm’s famed aquarium, so you’ll be able to see fish, sharks, stingrays and other fascinating sea creatures glide past as you enjoy your tasting menu.
The dinner comes in 11 courses, or waves, and we’re currently in the third iteration of the menu, with dishes inspired by Berger’s global travels.

There are few restaurants in Dubai with a more beautiful or romantic setting than Pai Thai. A prime spot for anniversaries, birthdays and to take visitors to, Pai Thai is perched out into the sparkling Madinat Waterways.

One of several family-friendly beach clubs along the Shoreline on Palm Jumeirah, Peaches & Cream caters to families very well.
There’s a swimming pool and beach area, which are accessible with a minimum spend on food and drink, making it a decent shout for a family day out. It’s casual and relaxed, so you won’t feel uncomfortable if your offspring isn’t showing their best side, although they’ll soon be distracted by splashing around and digging into burgers, chips, pizza et al.

A modern Japanese bakery, Pekoe is a top shout if you’re after a chilled out weekend morning in Dubai in 2024.
Nestled away in the hip Alserkal Avenue, this relative newcomer to the bakery scene is impressing diners with its slick interiors and joy-bringing baked goods so much that it takes home The Best Bakery Award for 2024.
From freshly baked bread to deliciously moreish pastries, the sights and smells will have you wanting it all. Don’t miss the bread and spread – to choose your own slices and toppings, while unique takes on classic croissants are fun and tasty.

Everyone’s heard of Pickl – and with good reason, it’s a giant when it comes to the best burgers in Dubai. A multiple winner of the best burger in Dubai award, you can look forward to a perfectly seared patty, smothered in special sauce and snuggled into a squishy potato bun.
Not only are the beef versions lip-smackingly good, Pickl’s chicken sando has become the stuff of legend, so make sure you order one of each – you won’t regret it. Morning, noon, night – there’s never a wrong time to dig into a Pickl burger.

It’s done it again. New York-Neapolitan-style pizzas are the order of the day here at Pitfire. Pizzas so loved that they can be found at Time Out Market Dubai, the original branch is nestled in JLT’s Cluster D.
Set up by a husband-and-wife team, the pizzas here are massive and come fully loaded – Pitfire doesn’t skimp on the toppings. There’s everything from traditional pepperoni and margheritas to turkey ham and pineapple and even potato or dates, meaning whatever your jam you’ll find it here.
The crusts are puffy and blistered and Pitfire is still the best pizzeria in Dubai (and the only place for those compulsory garlic knots).

This 100 percent organic, plant-based restaurant in The Greens serves a solely vegan menu. One of the best vegan restaurants in Dubai, part of the appeal here is the variety of the menu.
The team have travelled the world drawing in inspiration from their journeys. Planet Terra promotes a conscious lifestyle and everything on the menu is made in-house with no refined sugars or artificial sweeteners.

An oldie but still a very goodie – Prime68 is a stalwart on the Dubai dining scene with valid reason. Officially the best steakhouses in Dubai – again – Prime68 not only serves delicious, expertly cooked meat, it also offers some of the best views around.
As you’d expect from the name, you’ll find this steakhouse on the 68th floor of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai with stunning skyline views. Inside it’s a pretty classic setup in terms of steakhouses, but lifted with modern touches. When it comes to meat, enjoy cuts from all over the world, including a tomahawk if you’re in the mood to share.
Expertly cooked and full of flavour, meat-eaters will love Prime68. These guys are steak specialists – they know what they’re doing and they do it well every time while keeping the prices in the mid-range, and for that, we applaud them.

One of the best family restaurants in Dubai, Reform is always buzzing, not least because of the amount of activities and deals it runs. From parent and baby sessions to happy hours and family brunches, there’s always good reason to return.
The food is tasty – especially the belly-busting breakfasts – and kids will be happy with their choice. The pub garden is also excellent, which is why it took home the Best Pub Garden award at the Nightlife Awards 2023.
Expect a play area with slides and a climbing frame and plenty of green space to kick a ball or run around. It’s dog-friendly too, so the entire family can come along for an afternoon out.

Hungry for a smashed burger? This is the place for you. Maxzi was originally an online grocery store, before setting up shop in the hip Al Quoz in 2018. And since then its awesome burgers have drawn in a loyal following.
Burgers are made with wagyu beef and smooshed into squidgy potato buns, smothered with onion, pickles and house sauce. Hungry? Go for the double cheeseburger. Extra-hungry? Go large with the triple patty. Pair it with tater tots and you’re onto a good thing.

Sultan Saray is always buzzing, the service is solid and the food is excellent – it’s a repeat winner of the Best Turkish Restaurant in Dubai award with good reason.

Sports Bar of the Year 2023 not only lays on top deals and shows a vast range of sport, the food is top-notch, too. Marmite roasties deserve special mention, while the wings are some of the best in town.

Service is friendly and dishes are authentic and tasty. Spice levels are tailored to how hot you can handle, while you can wash the curries, satay, stir-fries and more down with Thai-inspired mixed drinks.

If you’re after high-quality food and a chic setup with no gimmicks, Traiteur is for you. One of the best buffet brunches in Dubai, Traiteur takes over Brasserie du Park and NOÉPE for a Saturday afternoon extravaganza.
The optimum time to visit is in the winter, where the terrace is the best place to sit, perched next to the Creek next to the yachts and with a view of the Dubai skyline. NOÉPE turns into a massive seafood station with lobster, prawns, sushi, oysters and more, while there’s an excellent barbecue area outside too.

One of the most avant garde Indian restaurants in Dubai – and the sister of Carnival by Trèsind and tasting experiences Avatara and Trèsind Studio – there’s a lot to recommend Trèsind. Found at the exclusive One&Only Royal Mirage – having moved in 2022 from Voco on Sheikh Zayed Road – it’s a fancy place for a special occasion, and prices reflect that.
However, the quality of the cooking is expert and it’s a fantastic choice with dishes such as tandoori portobello and butter pepper garlic prawns prepared tableside for a touch of theatre. The mixed drinks are inventive and worth ordering, too. If you love Indian cuisine, this is most certainly one of the best restaurants in Dubai for it.

This modern Cantonese restaurant has stunning interiors and despite its surprising location in Kempinski Mall of the Emirates, it’s fast becoming one of Dubai’s dining hot spots. From the team behind Twiggy, Ninive, and La Cantine du Faubourg, the standard of service and quality of food at XU is high – as you’d expect.
A solid line up of dim-sum and stir-fries are sure to impress with tasty plates including salt and pepper squid and pan-fried scallop dumplings.
The black pepper beef tenderloin is a hit, while if you’re feeling bougie opt for the caviar prawn toast. The décor is cool, the diners are cool, and it’s one of the newest, and now best, Chinese restaurants in Dubai.

This cute, casual Turkish restaurant in Umm Suqeim serves authentic, pocket-friendly plates. Heading here for breakfast? Tuck into the traditional Turkish breakfast with three types of cheese, three types of jam, simit bread, pastries and more to start your day in the best of ways.
Mezze ranges from hummus and vine leaves to moutabel, shrimp with garlic butter while there are various shawarmas and doner kebabs for something heartier. Kebabs and mixed grills main up the mains, while you’ll want to round your meal off with Turkish ice cream and a cup of Turkish coffee.
